Acura, just a few minutes ago finished the press conference and presentation of the new concept, the 2015 Acura TLX, at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

With the production of the TSX to stop later in 2014, the TLX concept gives us an idea of how it will be his replacement. The original is 96.5mm shorter than the current TL but has exactly the same wheelbase (2.776mm). Due to the shorter length, the model shows much more dynamic and “sport” of the current TL and the lines of “bring” more of these ILX, which is not only bad to say. On the other hand, the identical wheelbase ensures that the offered seating for passengers will not be reduced. Design distinguish the Jewel Eye LED luminaires of Acura, the detail mirrors and beautiful alloy wheels 20-inch dimension with tires 265/35.

The Acura says the production model will be offered with two engines. A new 2.4-liter four-cylinder that also combined with a new 8-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission with torque converter and a V6 3.5-liter will be combined with a new 9-speed automatic transmission. The movement is transmitted to the front wheels while only the V6, can be chosen and the new SH-AWD system Acura. This is different from the torque vectoring system that replaces while being 25% lighter. Interestingly that in brostokinites versions, the car has what the company calls Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) offering dynamic and independent monitoring of toe to both drive wheels.

As the Acura addressed primarily in the U.S., the TLX concept is designed in the company’s design studio in Los Angeles and when finally going into production, will be built at the factory Acura in Ohio. The production model will be unveiled at the Chicago Motor Show in February or in the worst case, the New York Auto Show in April.
