Toyota, the Japanese car maker has released new details about Yaris Hybrid-R concept. And this prototype ahead of its debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The concept model is inspiration from TS030 Hybrid, has a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with 300 bhp (223 kW). Yaris Hybrid-R concept with electric motors power the rear wheels and the petrol engine powers the front wheels, while two 60 bhp (44 kW) and for, and this setup enables produce a combined maximum power 420 bhp (313 kW).
In road mode, the Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R with electric motors can boost for up to 10 seconds and produce a 40 bhp (29 kW) and in the track mode is selected, electric motors can boost for up to 5 seconds and deliver their full 60 bhp (44 kW), act as generators & store energy in a super capacitor. Super capacitor is delivers and lighter a faster power charge or discharge than a traditional nickel–metal hydride (NiMh) battery.
The Yaris hybrid model is also comes with a 3th electric motor that acts as a generator is located between the engine, and the sequential transmission 6-speed. This can helps directly power the rear electric motors during acceleration and recharge the super capacitor during deceleration.
