No one will catch you surprise collaboration between BMW and Brilliance to manufacture vehicles in China. Well, as had been anticipated for some time both brands are developing a new range of vehicles that will be sold through a new company, called Zhi Nuo (which comes to mean “the promise”).

The latest news coming on this new brand is that it seems not to be reserved for the local market but is being studied for possible launch in other countries, especially those emerging. So far nothing has been decided, but what is clear is that Europe will not come because of the greater demands in terms of quality of customers and strict safety and emissions regulations.

It’s range of models of this new brand will be based BMW vehicles already known, including their own X1. They will be manufactured in the same plant in Shenyang from currently out many of the BMW sold in China. Chinese law requires each joint venture to create a new brand in order to improve knowledge in manufacturing and development of local firms and thus get more complete products that can be exported without being challenged world (something that had happened after the failure of the Landwind).

Zhi Nuo The name is not yet fully confirmed. Apparently it is very difficult to find a name that is not registered. As discussed in BMW, there are people who are dedicated exclusively to it, to then sell the rights.
