In Frankfurt Motor Show in September, Mercedes-Benz will present the plug-in hybrid version of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. It’s called S500 Hybrid Plus and by petrol and diesel variants, will stand out from the new grille, new exhaust tailpipes and a new rear bumper which also has a door for recharging the batteries.
In Germany it costs less than € 100.000 and mechanical will be wearing the V6 3,5-liter engine which is combined with an electric motor 80 kW (109 hp) powered by lithium-ion batteries, giving the car an average fuel consumption close to 3 liters / 100 km, with 70 g/km emission of CO2. These figures are similar to those of the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid.
As leaked during a presentation held in town Sindelfingen, Germany, through the display of multimedia system will be marked “E Drive” along with a battery indicator. The motor will be mounted behind the normal machine, with the array of batteries to be placed in the luggage compartment.
