2014 Hyundai Genesis officially revealed, available with 425 HP V8 5.0

0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 8.6 seconds before topping out at 143 mph (230 km/h).

After several spy photos and teasers, the Hyundai officially unveiled the new 2014 Hyundai Genesis.

The second generation Genesis looks more mature and the clarified first. The exterior design is clearly influenced by the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 corporate identity. The front and rear overhangs are small while the show in front of stealing the imposing grille with special luminaires. The fog lights, turn signals and tail lights are LED.

The cabin one observes the biggest difference compared to the model it replaces. The materials are higher quality and luxury while the overall design is more frugal to not look “loaded” in the eye. The total capacity of the storage spaces in the cabin has soared to 26.9 liters from 3.7 the previous Genesis and the space available for passengers is also increased.

The 2014 Hyundai Genesis is 4.99m long, 1.89 wide and 1.48 tall with a wheelbase of up to 3.01m. The car rests on rims from 17 to 19 inches and is available while the HTRAC wheel drive as standard are rear-wheel drive.

Candidates customers will have the opportunity to choose among four driving sets, three V6 and a V8: the key will be a three-liter V6 that delivers 257 horses and 303 Nm of torque while above it placed the V6 of 3.3 liters (282 horses and 347Nm torque) and the V6 3.8 liter (315 horses and 397Nm torque).

At the top, there is a 5-liter V8 with 425 horsepower and 519 Nm of torque. All engines are upgraded / refreshed while associated exclusively with 8-speed automatic transmission. The basic version accelerates to 100km/h from standstill in 8.6 seconds with a final standing at 230km/h while the other two V6, 0-100 completed in 7.2 and 6.5 seconds, and the final is the same, 240km/h. Otherwise, the new Genesis has under the Hyundai significantly improved NVH, greater safety, better handling and more equipment. Regarding the latter, the Genesis is equipped with plethora of security systems such as Lane Departure Warning System, the Lane Keeping Assist System, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Advanced Smart Parking Assist System.
