If Toyota thought it only has hidden ace in the sleeve of nostalgia launching the Toyota GT86, the Nissan came the report of Tokyo Motor Show to dispel that belief. Can play this this game and I think all of us please do.

I’m talking of course about the legendary first generation Skyline GT-R, the famous Hakosuka, history KPGC10 that came into production in the late ’60s (four-door) – early 70s (the coupe) and revived in 2013 . Although not mentioned anywhere in the press release of the Nissan, not a specific imagination to understand that there is the inspiration for Nissan IDx Freeflow and IDx Nismo presented in the report of Tokyo Motor Show. I could go on and Datsun Bluebird 1600 SSS Coupe but one that is the later of KPGC10, chose the Skyline.

According to the Japanese manufacturer, the goal he wanted to achieve with these two vehicles is to demonstrate that Nissan and Nismo can create two very different models of the same vehicle. Yes, Nismo can take an already outrageously good vehicle and make it better (see GT-R ) or a nifty sports car and make it better (see 370Z ) but can do the same with a humble rear-wheel drive coupe.

The Nissan IDx Freeflow is quite small. It measures 4.1 meters long, 1.7 meters and a width of just 1.3 meters in height. Unfortunately, the concept has no powertrain but Nissan says the imagined with a 1.2-1.5 liter gasoline engine combined with a continuously variable gear transmission (CVT).

The Nissan IDx Nismo the other hand, is wider by about 10 inches and features exterior design inspired by the games. Swollen fenders, side exhausts, spoiler, air intakes and 19-inch alloy wheels. As regards the engine, Nissan says that “to meet the expectations for a powertrain capable of initiating such an awesome car, a proposal of engineers was a high-performance engine but environmentally friendly, 1.6 liter engine with direct injection and turbo being reconciled with sport CVT transmission with manual mode. ”

I do not know what you say but I say costume a nametag for 20.000-28.000 EUR and remove the production yesterday!
