Since the end of last month we knew in the report of Tokyo Motor Show, the Honda will bring the Honda S660 Concept.

The Honda S660 Concept is a kei-car exclusively for the Japanese market if eventually released with this name will be the first model of Honda with S at the beginning of the name after the S2000. Of course “inspiration” for the tiny roadster is not the legendary S2000 but his ancestors, the S500, S600 and S800.

It shares many design elements with the EV-STER Concept we saw two years ago in the same report but Honda decided not to use the electric powertrain and replace it with a turbocharged, three-cylinder 660 cc engine which gives 64 horses and mated to a 7-speed CVT.

Speaking at the press conference of Honda, the Takanobu Ito, President and CEO of Honda Motor Co said:

This model shows the free thinking of new Honda engineers who want to make a cool car that is unique to the company. Our engineers devote their passion and technologies for the development of this model.

Finally, we must mention that there have been rumors about the release of this model in other countries / markets but with a turbo engine 1000AP instead of 660 cc.
