US-spec Volkswagen e-Golf to debut in Los Angeles, will go on sale in late 2014

Will be available exclusively as a five-door hatchback and is distinguished by a revised grille and LED headlights and can travel up to 90 miles (144 km) on a single charge.

The Volkswagen at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September presented the Volkswagen e-Golf whose American version will debut in the report of Los Angeles next week.

The VW e-Golf time an electric performance 115 hp (85 kW) with 270 Nm of torque. The electric car is brostokinito and is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.4 sec, with electronically limited top speed of 140 km/h. The 0-60 km/h makes in 4.2 seconds.

The lithium ion battery is mounted under the rear seats and a capacity of 24.2 kWh, which gives autonomy 130-190 km in electric Golf. It has aerodynamic coefficient 0.281 Cd and sales will start in spring 2014.

The Volkswagen e-Golf weighs 1,510 pounds, with the electric motor and batteries to weigh 318 pounds. It has three different drivers, the Normal, Eco and Range. The Normal is the default option, Eco limits the power of the motor at 95 hp (70.84 kW) and further limits the top speed to 120 km/h and finally the Range off the air condition and further limits the final at 95 km/h to optimize the car’s range.

It is the first time the Golf acquires full LED front light clusters and has active cruise control and City Emergency Braking. Charging via standard household outlet is within 20 hours, via a quick charger, 80% filled in 30 minutes with full charge lasts 4 hours. More details you can find the press release below.
