2014 Volkswagen Golf R introduced, with 300 HP

After several months of patience, the Volkswagen has finally revealed the 2014 Volkswagen Golf R. With several changes both mechanically and cosmetically, it promises to redefine what it means hot hatch.

As always, the show stealing the engine. The two-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine now delivers 300 horses from 5,500 rpm to 6,200 rpm and 380Nm of torque. Compared with that of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, has new cylinder head, new exhaust valves, new valve springs and pistons while the turbo is redesigned.

All this 2014 Volkswagen Golf R power will pass on the road through the 4Motion all-wheel drive system that always equip the strongest Golf while in the gearbox, the Golf R will be equipped with a manual six-speed transmission with strengthened clutch as standard with the automatic six-speed DSG as an option.

The 2014 VW Golf R, will have new settings on the suspension. Will “sitting” 20mm lower compared with the simple and Golf 5mm lower compared with the GTI while concrete in front suspension usually is the problem in both powerful vehicles, the lower control arm is new knee while the scrub radius is such that stabilizes the trace.

The steering is practically identical to that of Golf GTI with only difference that the system now has drastically reduced the lock-to-lock turns of 2.75 was only 2.1! To stop not the Golf R, VW had equipped it with ventilated discs on all four wheels.

Finally, we identify differences in physical appearance. The new Golf R features a new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, rear diffuser, quad exhaust tailpipe and new onset bi-xenon headlights. The rims are wearing 18 inch as standard while 19ares offered as extra.

The 2014 Volkswagen Golf R will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in next month and the first deliveries will begin to materialize in mid-2014 with the price in Germany starting at € 38.325.
