Volkswagen Group recovers the 2.0 TDI 110 hp for some of their models. In Algeria Auto Show took place the presentation of the new national SEAT Leon third generation and see the range available we found to be sold with two specific engines. SEAT has decided to introduce this engine to reduce costs so we can offer at a competitive price.
And the fact is that it worked for the SEAT Leon starts below two million dinars, a rate that makes it very well placed between rivals given their full equipment (all have even sunroof, parking sensor or tires alloy). For those who want a higher level of performance, the Lion may be chosen with the 2.0 TDI 143 hp that the previous generation had. The level of benefits is both reasonable and consumption, fairly tight but always above those achieved in the European offer.
According to approved, SEAT Leon 110 hp 2.0 TDI CR reaches 186 km/h top speed and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 12.6 seconds. The average consumption is 4.6 L/100. Meanwhile the 2.0 TDI CR 143 hp reaches 205 km/h top speed and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds. The average consumption is 5.6 L/100.
It’s range is limited, for now, only two versions. The 2.0 TDI CR 110 hp is now available exclusively with the Reference, which includes ESP, TCS, ABS, six airbags, air conditioning, rear LED lights, electric sunroof, alloy wheels, 16 inches, integrated sound system With Bluetooth, MP3, USB and 5.8-inch touch screen and rear parking sensor.
Regarding the 2.0 TDI CR 143 hp, sold only with FR finish. Add to the above the two-zone automatic climate control, alloy wheels 18-inch Full-LED headlamps, XDS, SEAT Drive Profile, exterior chrome package, electrically operated folding mirrors, cruise control and fog lights with cornering function among other things.
They are also equipped with exterior sports package. Recommended prices are 1.99 million dinars (€ 19,590) for the 110 hp 2.0 TDI Reference and 2,399,000 dinars (€23,622) for the 143 hp 2.0 TDI FR. Before the summer will join the three-door body and new mechanical options.
To put it in the market, then leave a brief list of the prices of some competing models:
- Citroen C4 1.6 HDI 110 HP Phoenix dh 2,280,000 (€22,451)
- Hyundai i30 (above) 1.6 CRDI 115 hp dh Prestige 1,925,000 (€18,955)
- Peugeot 308 1.6 e-HDI 112 hp Active dh 1,929,000 (€18,994)
- Renault Megane Dynamique 1.5 dCi 105 hp dh 1,749,000 (€17,222)
- Volkswagen Golf VII 110 hp 2.0 TDI CR Confortline dh 2,499,000 (€24,601)
The cheapest is some distance with the Mégane, but lacks stability control and other items of equipment that do carry the other rivals. The Golf VII also features the same engine of the Lion, while Volkswagen mechanics has no choice for now. The i30 marketed in Algeria is the previous generation, with a pretty design and gastante. Other models like the Focus or Astra appear not offered in variants which are not comparable (the Ford only sold with petrol and diesel Astra has 130 hp and the €26.580).
