“They’re here.” The Chinese are already at the Geneva Motor Show with a product that, at last, we can qualify as “suitable”. We will not say spectacular. We will not say great because it is not. But what Qoros let us see and touch in Geneva Motor Show is a good sign that we must begin to take seriously these people if we do not take fright.
Qoros had a stand overly white, so bright that I almost fall to the ground upon arrival. The cars, live, those who are not models (those that were hatcback you see above were mere design models), were perfectly finished on the outside.
Certainly, the gaps between panels were “a wonder”, and transitions between curves, lines and flat surfaces style was a little rough. But the overall design is “well made car” on the outside, but with clear inspiration German (do not you sound like Volkswagen mirrors?).
And if the outside looks a little “German”, inside and long story.
The dashboard, in forms and distribution of elements, is a sticker on any Passat known, but with a center console chaired by its own multifunctional display. The finish of the plastics are good for texture and feel, but the fit, although consistent, left something to be desired (plastic moving of your site, for example). The logo of the “Q” of gigantic proportions not convinced.
But the key to this whole thing is the marketing price. If this sort of launches Jetta in Europe at a price of SEAT Toledo , rest assured it will hurt. The only downside we see at the moment is that the only offer mechanical now have in the manga is a 1.6 liter petrol. No diesel in the old continent are going to be very, very complicated.
