[Report] 2015 Volkswagen Passat could spawn coupe and convertible variants

As we saw late last month through some spy photos, the 2014 Volkswagen Passat has already entered the phase of testing on public roads. But now we have more information to share with you.

First of all, the new Passat will be based on MQB platform and will likely be lighter than the current model, but to know how much more lightweight. The news is that the new model may give us a series of publications.

The sedan and station wagon version postulated and will be presented in November 2014 with sales beginning in 2015 while Alltrack version will be launched in 2015. A year later, we can expect the Passat CC. At this point, the coupe and cabrio version are in very early stages and has not clarified if they get the green light.

The 2014 VW Passat will be equipped with the classic line-up of engines starting from 1400 cc TSI with 125 horsepower or 150 horses and end up in two-liter TSI with 220 or 280 horsepower. In terms of diesel, not normally there will be a 1600 cc TDI with 116 horses and 250Nm torque and a two-liter TDI with 150, 184 or 231 horses. Finally, there is the possibility of a production and R version that will run either a 300 horsepower gasoline engine or a diesel 260 hp.
