The Opel announced that the Opel Zafira Tourer will be built at Ruesselsheim from 2015. This strengthens the traditional factory of Hesse and will increase the utilization of its capacity.
Having been rejected by the union of workers for the labor contract offered in connection with restructuring activities of Bochum, the Zafira Tourer will be manufactured exclusively in Bochum until the end of 2014. After the end of vehicle production in Bochum, which will close in 2014, Opel will invest in “Bochum Perspective 2022″. The aim of the initiative is to bring new jobs and technologies in Bochum and the surrounding area.
