Subaru EyeSight System upgrades for 2015 with new cameras, larger capacity and smaller size.

One originality of EyeSight is that the cameras are mounted on the windshield. This protects sensitive equipment from damage is likely to occur when in the mask but with the previous system is bulky, limiting the field of vision. This, with a 15% reduction in size, has improved significantly.

Then, the new cameras have 40% greater range and enhanced optical field respectively. Moreover, the ability to “see” colors, allows the system to recognize brake lights with differential speed 48 km/h over 30 km/h of the previous generation.

Finally, except those offered last EyeSight (adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and Pre-Collision Braking), the upgraded version offers and new systems. As the Blind Spot Detection (blind spot detection), the Lane Change Assist (lane change assistant) and the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system which recognizes vehicles up to 7 meters behind the car.

The Subaru says the new EyeSight will be offered in more vehicles than before but does not indicate what and when.
