The new Ford F-150 will be presented at the Detroit Auto Show next month, says a report in Bloomberg, despite rumors that he wanted the car to be delayed due to problems in aluminum. The car will be about 350 pounds lighter compared to the outgoing model, since it will make extensive use of aluminum doors, bonnet and the wings.
It borrows many design elements from the Atlas Concept presented at Detroit last January and will be offered with new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine, combining a 10-speed gearbox which prepares the Blue Oval company. You will also encounter atmospheric V6 3.5-liter engine, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost and a V8 5-liter. Of course there will be a Raptor version while it is very likely that the F-150 to obtain hybrid technology that Ford meet stricter fuel economy standards adopted in the United States.
Production will begin in the summer of 2014, with factories will manufacture close earlier so these make the necessary upgrades, mainly due to the use of aluminum.
