New information has become available about the replacement of the Ferrari California, confirming rumors that the turbo engine will be the same time that the Maserati Quattroporte.
It is a twin-turbo V8 3,8-liter which in the case of the Quattroporte delivers 530 hp and 710 Nm of torque. How many horses will produce the engine over in California is something that until today, the Ferrari has kept a closely guarded secret.
The entry-level model of Ferrari will be the first model of the Scuderia after F40 will reuse turbo engine. It has minimal turbo lag and instant throttle response. It is made of aluminum with the hardtop to be electronically controlled.
It features a new infotainment system based on Chrysler’s UConnect system and Side Slip Angle Control which placed first in the 458 Speciale. The new generation of California probably occur at the Geneva Motor Show next March, with sales to begin either in late 2014 or early 2015.
