Now officially the BMW showed us the 2014 BMW M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe, where to launch them the Bavarian marque reveals the fifth generation of the M3 with a new interpretation of the term high-performance sports car, the turbo engines.

Having sold over 40,000 cars in the fourth generation M3 Coupe, the BMW M4 longer wishes to continue its heavy history of the model. The front suspension MacPherson, like the multi-link rear are made of lightweight materials to reduce unsprung weight and increase rigidity. From the factory both cars wear 18-inch wheels with tire size 255/40 front and 275/40 rear, but the additional equipment wheels are 19-inch.

The weight of the M4 is 1497 pounds, which makes it 80 pounds lighter than the previous model and maximizes the dynamic characteristics, ensuring excellent performance. To achieve this has been increased use of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) and aluminum in a large part of the frame and parts of the body. The CFRP roof, than the conventional, weighs 5 pounds less in M3 and 6 pounds in M4.

Both the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe fitted with the same 3-liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo S55 engine that delivers just 431 horses and 550Nm of torque. For the 0-100 km/h takes just 4.1 seconds using the seven-speed dual-clutch M-DCT (4,3 seconds with the 6-speed manual transmission), and are 25% more economical having average consumption 8.3 L/100 km with the 7-speed automatic gearbox and 8.8 l/100 km with 6-speed manual. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, but the package M Driver’s Package limiter leaves and top speed rises to 280 km/h.

The brakes are comprised of conventional ventilated discs, but the additional equipment we meet and carbon-ceramic brakes. The M DCT automatic transmission system has indeed start and burnout, as it is rumored that also features the new 2015 Ford Mustang.
