The new strategy of Fiat includes investment of 9 billion EUR over the next three years, in an effort to produce profits and give back life in empty Italian factories.
Unfortunately Fiat Punto, like all shows, there is the following drawings of the Italian automaker. The current generation of the Punto will get a version of the Abarth in 2014, which will be the last year of life. The car will be replaced by a five-door variant of the 500 , which will be built in Poland in order to increase profit margins. In operation will remain the Fiat factory in Serbia where they acquire life versions of 500L .
The Punto hit the market in 2005 and by 2007, sales accounted for 31% of European sales of Fiat. The economic crisis resulted in sales of Fiat to tumble, with the share of the Italian car industry to shrink continuously for the past four years. Sales in 2012 were 47% lower compared to sales in 2009, as evidenced by the statistics of ACEA, with Fiat’s market share has fallen to 6.2% compared with 9.3% in 2009. The collapse in sales resulted in losses of nearly 2 billion EUR in 2011, while the first nine months of the year, Fiat has lost an extra 304 million euros.
The motto coming increasingly from the lips of Sergio Marchionne is “Made in Italy”, the strong man of Fiat to talk about a shift premium of Fiat Group, especially with the new Alfa Romeo and Maserati, which are all manufactured / will be made on Italian soil.
As it becomes clear that Fiat throws the weight of the Panda and 500 , in an attempt to free resources for the premium shift. The Maserati new Ghibli and Quattroporte shows signs of recovery having already 23,000 orders, four times the number compared to sales of 2,012 (6,200 cars) and we hope to do the same with Alfa Romeo, whose new 5-year plan will be presented at the end of the first quarter of 2014.
