The car set to be launched in next spring. And the new A3 redesigned convertible rides on the MQB platform & will comes with features styling that closely echoes the A3 sedan. The new Audi A3 Cabriolet will get a soft top, that can be opened or closed in less than 18 seconds. And the car has top speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph).
And it’s will eventually be offered with a 110 HP (81 kW) 1.6-liter TDI & a 2.0-liter TFSI 300 HP (221 kW).
The new 2014 Audi A3 Cabriolet price starts at €31,700 and the car is currently available for order in German.

Starting signal for series production of the new Audi A3 Cabriolet: With this new compact four-seater, Audi Hungaria is producing another model completely in Gy?r as of today. The A3 Cabriolet is distinctive already with its flowing lines and fabric soft-top. It is also at the pinnacle of its segment in technical terms – with consistently applied lightweight construction, the latest engine technology, versatile networking and highly effective assistance systems.
“Production of the new A3 Cabriolet is another step in expanding our production capacities in Gy?r to 125,000 automobiles each year. For many years, our Hungarian plant has convinced our customers with automobiles in premium quality. This is made possible by a flexible team with great expertise,” stated Dr. Frank Dreves, Board of Management Member for Production of AUDI AG.
The A3 Cabriolet rolls off the assembly line at the new production plant of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. along with the A3 Sedan. Audi also builds the next generation of the Audi TT Coupe and TT Roadster there. The company has invested a total of more than €900 million in buildings and equipment at this site.

Audi Hungaria stands for efficient working processes, an excellent infrastructure and highly qualified employees, who have already gained great experience with the assembly of the previous model,” said Gerd Walker, Director of Automobile Production at Audi Hungaria.
The Audi A3 Cabriolet will be available in the European market next spring. Advance sales start today in Germany and the first European markets. With a low weight thanks to lightweight construction, powerful and highly efficient engines, as well as numerous high-end infotainment and driver-assistance packages, the dynamic compact car has all the strengths of the A3 model series. Between 2007 and 2013, Audi Hungaria built a total of approximately 63,000 units of the predecessor model in Gy?r in conjunction with the Ingolstadt plant.
