These are the production-ready 2014 BMW i8 first two official photos by BMW and this vehicle will be publicly unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10th.
The new i8 it was only yesterday when the company released a teaser clip with the plug-in hybrid i8 supercar & now the hybrid supercar is out of the bag as the first two official photos depicting the hybrid supercar by BMW have surfaced the web. The i8 production model loses the see-through doors & gets more down-to-earth alloy wheels.
The supercar comes with open the scissor doors & you will notice right away the interior doesn’t stray away too much from current the company’s, but there are digital instrument clusters at the interios & a blue circle around the logo of BMW on the steering wheel.
BMW has announced 2014 BMW i8 will come with a 3-cylinder, 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine 231 HP (170 kW) & 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque, it’s for rear wheel. An electric motor can produce power 131 HP (96 kW) & 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) at the front wheels & enable the i8 hybrid supercar to have a 362 HP (266 kW) & 420 lb-ft (570 Nm).
This car have 1,490 kg (3,285 lbs), the 2014 BMW i8 production version can get 62 mph (100 km/h) just need 4.5 seconds, and will have top speed 155 mph (250 km/h), average fuel consumption of 2.5 liters / 100 km (94 mpg US or 113 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions standing at 59 g/km. On the electric power of BMW i8 can have top speed of 75 mph (120 km/h) & should have enough range of 22 miles (35 km).
