Toyota Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle concept headed to Frankfurt Motor Show

Previews the 2015 production model and will use a fuel cell, two high-pressure hydrogen tanks, a 21kW battery and a Hybrid Synergy Drive system.

Toyota has announced plans to introduce a Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle (FCHV) concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in next week at September 10th and set to preview the 2015MY and will use a fuel cell, two high-a 21kW battery, pressure hydrogen tanks, & a Hybrid Synergy Drive system.

The hybrid vehicle detailed specifications were not released, but the company have made several improvements to the system since the FCV-R concept debuted at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, as car maker explained, engineers have reduced the size of the fuel cell stack while increasing its output to 3.0kW / liter and also found increased the range to 350+ miles (563 km) & used to different materials which enable it to work in temperatures as low as -30°C (-22°F).

The Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle production model is expected to carry a base price of approximately £70,000 ($109,030 / €82,575), but the Japanese company is hopeful that additional cost savings can be found before the hybrid model is launched.
