2014 Audi A3 Cabrio spied, will debut at Frankfurt

Frankfurt Motor Show-bound 2014 Audi A3 Cabrio has been spied once again with the top up while testing on public roads.

The new A3 lineup will be publicly unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show next week and is based on the Audi A3 Sedan, so the wheelbase will be slightly elongated in comparison to the regular 5-door hatchback model.

Riding on the MQB platform, the cabrio model of A3 will be rival for BMW 2-Series Cabrio. The 2014 A3 Cabrio should expect to see retractable soft top, a prominent front grille, dual exhaust setup, LED headlights, & 5-spoke rims.

The 2014 Audi A3 Cabrio engine will be carried over from the other A3 models, together with a 300 HP (220 kW) S3 Cabrio model & the RS3 Cabrio with 400 HP (294 kW). This car use 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard, else with an optional 6-speed dual-clutch for the Audi S3 Cabrio & a 7-speed setup for the Audi RS3 Cabrio.
