The new 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray hasn’t even hit dealerships yet, but new details about this car are starting to emerge about the Corvette Z06 replacement.
By reported Car & Driver, the new Corvette model will adopt the Z07 name to reflect that it is based on the 7th-generation Chevrolet Corvette. The rumors also suggest that the new car will come equipped with larger Michelin tires and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes.
About engine for this car is not reported, but the source believes it will use a turbocharged or twin-turbocharged V8 that displaces “significantly less” than 6.2-liters. We know that the current model has a 7.0-liter V8 505 bhp (376 kW), but the new engine could have power 600 bhp (447 kW) despite its smaller size, it could be connected exclusively to a 6-speed manual transmission.
If everything pans out, the Chevrolet Corvette Z07 could be introduced in early 2015 as a 2016MY.
