Ford will participate in 2014 Rally Dakar with two Ranger to be built with the help of Neil Woolridge Motorsport, a team from South Africa.
The race will be held from 5 to the 18 January 2014 with combi Ranger to wear V8 5,0-liter engine performance 354 hp with 560 Nm of torque, combined with a 6-speed sequential gearbox Sadev, who sends traffic to all four wheels. Racing consume 28 litres/100 km in normal driving and 90 L/100 km in sandy conditions race. Wear rims 16-inch Michelin tires size 245/85.
Of course it is equipped with a racing suspension and thicker anti-roll bars, front-back, to withstand the demanding trails of Argentina, Chile and Bolivia. Meters each weighing 1,975 pounds, wears brakes Brembo, air cooled and water cooled front and rear can catch a top speed of 170 km/h.
The first crew consists of Lucio Alvarez and Ronnie Graue with the second by Chris Visser and Japie Badenhorst. The race of 2014 will be the 35th of the institution. We start from the city of Rosario in Argentina and end in the city of Valparaiso in Chile after 13 stages and 8,500 km.
