These are the first spy photos of the hardline version of the Ferrari 458 Italia which will be named either 458 Scuderia or 458 Monte Carlo.
The car features a more aerodynamic shape, with new front bumper with larger air intakes, while the rear rumored to have active flaps on the rear diffuser, similar to those of LaFerrari. It is lighter than the 458 Italia about 100 pounds, thus reaching to a total weight of 1280 pounds. It uses some elements from the racing 458 Challenge , but also the know-how gained evolving the LaFerrari.
Regarding the transmission of hardcore version of the news is confusing as originally heard that Ferrari will not provide them with the dual-clutch gearbox which now wears the 458 Italia but in position to get a more brutal single clutch that can lift the increased horsepower and torque of the model. The other solution is to use the existing transmission further advanced, with new gearing speeds.
Other changes are expected to have the brakes being larger, tighter suspension and better tires. Mechanically the V8 engine is expected to reach 600 horses of 562 which is the “normal road” 458, wearing new forged connecting rods, reprogrammed brain, more “free” evaporation and the cutter coming up to 9,300 rpm from 9,000 rpm it is now.
All these changes will give acceleration 0-100 km/h in less than 3.4 seconds while the final will be more than 325 km/h.
Expected to make debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
