2013 Datsun GO breaks cover [w/video]

This is the first car of the “new” Datsun, by Nissan revived the name after 27 years. You however the Nissan revived the legendary brand, but the cars will have longer range of the Datsun, have absolutely nothing to do with car enthusiasts of the past.

The first model is called Datsun Go, based on the platform of Nissan Micra, and it is a small five-door hatchback car which will initially be sold in India and will compete with cars like the Hyundai i10. The Datsun Go once a 1.2-liter engine which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and in addition to the Indian market, will be sold in the emerging markets of Indonesia, Russia and South Africa. The design of the interior is austere and borrows some elements of the Micra, the handbrake and the gear selector is mounted on the center console, so there is space between the front seats.

The Datsun Go costs 400,000 rupees (€ 5.100) and will go on sale from early 2014. Later the Datsun will showcase more models, since they are currently in the development phase.
