[Report] Lexus IS chief engineer hints at a new IS F, could lose the 5.0-liter V8 engine

According to lead development of Lexus IS, Junichi Furuyama, the rapid adoption of IS, the IS F will not be equipped with V8 5,0-liter engine. The reason the Lexus took this decision is that the V8 engine could hardly meet the emission standards of Euro 6 and so the Japanese company is preparing a new engine for the F version of the all-new IS.

The Furuyama not clarified whether the new engine will be naturally aspirated or turbo, but hinted that Lexus’ first choice will be a naturally aspirated engine, while not ruled out, this engine is a hybrid.
