These are the first spy pictures of the inside of the 2014 BMW i8, which will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show with sales to start in 2014 with a value close to 150,000 EUR.
From the photos we can see that the BMW i8 has a digital instrument cluster and three-spoke steering wheel. It has 2 +2 seating arrangement with central console to follow the same philosophy as that found in the other models of BMW.
The first plug-in hybrid supercar BMW‘s combines an electric motor in the front axle performance 96kW (131 hp) with 250 Nm of torque and a turbo 1.5-liters three-cylinder petrol engine to the rear axle performance 220 hp and 300 Nm of torque, the overall efficiency is amounts to 353 horses with 550 Nm of torque. Both engines will be mated to a new 4-speed gearbox which is designed specifically to maximize the performance of the car. Three-cylinder petrol engine will be built at the BMW plant in the city of Hams Hall, near Birmingham, England.
The car has a range of 35 km using only the electric motor, it consumes just 2.7 L/100 km, will do 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds with a top speed limited electronically to 250 km/h. The weight should not exceed 1.450 kg, 30 less than in the original and emits 66 g/km CO2. Will be built at the Leipzig plant in order to built 10,000 units annually, while there is no M versions.
