End of the 2014 MINI Cooper spy photos of the new MINI as the photographers immortalized without camouflage trail during the official photo shoot.
As we can see from the photos the new MINI, which would make the exhibition in Frankfurt Motor Show in September, keeps the classic, iconic, design feature, but has LED luminaires, similar in design to those of the original Rocketman, more raked windshield and a new grille. Cooper S models feature both the characteristic decorative strips as inserting the hood.
At the rear the light clusters are larger, features chrome details with exhaust tailpipes on the S versions are centered.
The new generation of the MINI will be built on the new platform architecture UKL. This platform is quite flexible and MINI will build on this and the next generation Clubman. A total of 22 architecture models of BMW and MINI will pull the market the BMW Group, all built on this platform. The first BMW model will be the BMW 1-Series GT, the production version of the BMW Concept Active Tourer.
It is available in both three-door and a five-door version , the three-door version has the same dimensions as those of the current generation while the five-door version will have larger dimensions than those of the current model, while having larger wheelbase so that there is more room for rear passengers.
The five-door Mini Cooper will be slightly smaller in length than the Countryman. The Mini proceeded to the decision to pull the market the 5-door version since many customers wanted a more practical model to allow rear passengers, particularly young children, to get in the car with greater ease. The engineers at Mini to fit 4 doors on a car less than 4 meters, except that the wheelbase grew slightly, diminished while the length of the front doors.
Inside the speedometer in the instrument panel has been removed, since there has been placed infotainment system, which features an illuminated frame, which flashes when the phone rings the driver.
Mechanically, the entry-level version will be available with three-cylinder 1.5-liters performance 114 bhp with a diesel version and 134 hp in petrol version. Followed by the new four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine will be fitted and the new BMW 1-Series, with versions Cooper S and JCW pay 180 and 220 horses.
The engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic with either an 8-speed automatic transmission which will cost additional 1,000 EUR. Finally, the new Mini Cooper will be equipped with rearview camera and automatic parking.
Sales will begin in late 2013 with the production take place at the MINI plant in Oxford.
