Three BMW i3 caught to move somewhere in Europe, during a pre-production test drive organized by BMW. The cars wore minimal camouflage revealing to even more design details of the first model of the i-brand of BMW.
Will debut in Frankfurt Motor Show fair in September with the pure electric i3 wearing an electric motor on the rear axle performance 125 kW (170 hp) with 250 Nm of torque, which is mated to a single speed transmission with the 0-60 km/h do it in less than 4 seconds with a 0-100 km/h to make around eight seconds with a top speed stands at 150 km/h. Will cost between € 35.000 and € 40.000 in Germany and has a range between 130 to 160 km
As for the i3 with range-extended engine , will wear a small gasoline engine , derived from bike BMW. This is the 652 ml GS efficiency of 48 horses which will charge the battery in order to extend the autonomy of i3 to 300 km, with respect to the 160 miles of pure electric version.
The BMW is making significant efforts to attract customers who will buy the new i3 and outside that will give the possibility to rent a conventional model of the BMW for a few days a year, but will install optional devices quick charge at home for future buyers.
England will start from £ 35.000 (€ 40.800) for pure electric version and from £ 38.000 (€ 44.300) for the range-extender version. The earliest traditions are expected to begin by the end of October, with the BMW has already received more than 100,000 applications to test drive the car.
