[Report] BMW 2-Series Coupe will go on sale next March, convertible to follow shortly after

The BMW 2-Series Coupe, will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September, but sales are scheduled for March 2014. Initially it will be available the coupe version, and after six months will follow and the cabrio version.

It is smaller in size than the BMW 4-Series, but a little larger than the current generation of 1-Series Coupe. BMW has stated that it will be sportier than the BMW 1-Series Coupe and mechanical will be wearing the same four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines and wearing the 1-Series, and later will add the new three-cylinder engine. The engines will be mated to either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission and will be available, and all-wheel drive xDrive the extra equipment.

1-Series Coupe will initially be available in versions 218d, 220d, 225d, 218i, 220i, 225i, and later will follow the M235i, M235i xDrive and M2 with the latter costing close to 52,900 euros in England.
