As expected, Renault officially unveiled today the turbo V6 engine, which will take part in the turbo era, and has been named Energy F1-2014. It has power close to 760 bhp, the fuel consumption is 35% less (defined by regulations at 100 pounds of fuel per hour) as the speed limiter will fall at 15,000 rpm from 18,000 rpm it is today, and each driver will have access to only 5 engines for the whole season instead of 8 having today.
Regarding the energy recovery system (ERS), will yield 161 hp (twice than it is today) and will be 10 times more efficient than the current KERS, always according to what the French company.
Tests of the new units will be in January, with the teams want initially to ensure that everything works as you want, because reliability is the most important motorsport.
