Peugeot is pleased to announce that it will double the production of Peugeot 2008 due to very high demand which has taken the France crossover.
The car is manufactured at the plant of PSA Group in Mulhouse, in eastern France with yet productive capacity to be 5000 units monthly.
The chairman of Peugeot, Maxime Picat, said that production will reach 10,000 units a month from September, when it will add a second shift. Continued talk that the company has received more than 16,000 orders, with most of them being from dealers who have not yet seen the car.
The Peugeot believes it will be able to sell 200,000 units in 2008 to 2015, with half of them manufactured in Mulhouse for the markets of Europe, China and North America, while 45000 other cars will be produced in Brazil. Finally, the remaining 55,000 will be made to China.
