The coming director of Toyota, Takeshi Uchiyamada, revealed he wants a jointly-developed sports car medium sized sportscar that can be considered the successor Toyota Supra.
Speaking at a business lobby in Osaka, Japan, Uchiyamada continued that he would like to evolve the car together with BMW, and has outperformed the Toyota GT86 not to compare it to as “it is futile to make something similar”. However acknowledged that his own want is not necessarily what will be and not the one who makes the decisions.
The two companies announced earlier this year an agreement for the production of a sports car, but to agree the exact type of car.
Worth mentioning is that the Uchiyamada is known as “the father of the Toyota Prius” because of his work on the evolution of best-selling car in the world. The 66-year-old will become manager of Toyota this weekend replacing Fujio Cho.
