The Chinese company Wanxiang is known to us because through the acquisition last December of the A123, firm supplying batteries to the Fisker Karma, essentially wanted to help itself Fisker from bankruptcy.
This seems to happen as with the VL Automotive and reputation following the partner company, Bob Lutz and the Destino, try to buy the full Fisker Automotive and not into the hands of Justin Bieber.
According to source Reuters, the VL and Wanxiang submitted bid in Fisker in early May through a “prepackaged bankruptcy agreement” (prepackaged bankruptcy deal in English). Talks are still ongoing, but one knows where they will end but a potential deal would be positive for both companies, Wanxiang and VL, as the former wants to continue to supply batteries as Karma and the second needs the chassis car if he wants to pull in enough production from Destino with the V8 engine.
In late April, Lutz had written an article about the situation and had Fisker says the Karma is ” possibly the most beautiful sedan that has been and that the craze for green motoring, frankly, fall, and interest in conventional cars remains strong.”
