The Seat will present at this year’s event Wörthersee, which will take place from May 8th to 12th of the new Seat Leon Cup Racer, which will be available for race teams for next season.
Based on a five-door Leon and is painted in metallic gray matte with some orange details. Rests on 18-inch racing wheels and aerodynamic integrated with new front and rear bumpers, wider fenders, inflated skirts, large rear spoiler and smoother the underbody for better airflow.
Inside have proper modifications to lower possible center of gravity of the car and wears a full roll cage, bucket seats with the system HANS, a TFT multifunction display and racing wheel.
Mechanically, the powertrain of Leon Cup Racer is a 2-liter turbo engine with 330 horses and 350 Nm of torque, the motion is transmitted to the front axle via a six-speed DSG and electronically controlled differential. The car can be ordered and sequential racing gearbox with a centrally mounted shifter for changing gears and mechanical differentials.
The price for Seat Leon with the DSG will start from €70.000, while the gearbox from €95.000, not including the price of VAT.
The head of Seat Sport is responsible for the sporting activities of the Spain company, Jaime Puig, said: “We expect to be able to offer the Leon Cup Racer groups since 2014. We also look to further develop the Cup Racer to construct a WTCC version with 1.6-liter engine.”
