Nissan revealed the Nissan Friend-Me Concept a 4-seater coupe designed, according to Nissan, for “a generation that has a different view of the car“. The exterior is stunning, with some lines coming out of the dominant grille and converge at the rear on the road forming very sharp fins and an aggressive look.
Though the concept car is extrapolated to the rest of the world, the Friend-Me Concept has been designed expresemente for and thinking about the generation of young Chinese who were born in the 80s (240 million people). For François Bancon, director of product strategy and planning at Nissan, if the Chinese market is poised to become the world’s first (not a lot), this generation of Chinese is to mark the future car trends in terms of design.
Leaving aside the jargon of the designers, too much influenced by the marketing department to the point of becoming a kind of semiotics class of forms, the Nissan Friend-Me Concept recovered with fluid shapes what has always liked who would like the car is generating it. The Friend-ME recipe is almost universal: the car is low, with large wheels that fill the wheel arches and overhangs are very short. Come on, the basic elements of all sports medium tourism. Though its design is futuristic, the creators of the Nissan Friend-Me Concept departed from existing Nissan platform, so its eventual industrialization not a major investment. As for engines, Nissan merely indicates that it is of hybrid type.
