The report of the New York Auto Show, Chevrolet unveiled the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, the ultimate track car, as described by the Americans, and now Chevrolet has gone and the Nurburgring to do the fine tuning, since sales will begin in a year from now, in the spring of 2014.
2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 features a new bodykit consisting of front splitter, inflated fenders, side spoilers, diffuser, spoiler and special panel on the floor of the car. Exterior changes are completed with quad tailpipes and wheels 19-inch with tires Pirelli PZero Trofeo R. Inside fitted Recaro bucket seats, steering wheel and butt matt aluminum decorative.
Under the hood lies the LS7 V8 7,0-liter engine which delivers “at least” 500 horses with 637 Nm of torque. Associated exclusively with the Tremec 6-speed manual gearbox, the Z/28 be in three seconds faster than the ZL1 in a test track.
This is mainly due to the reduced weight (-136 kg compared to the ZL1 ), since the Chevrolet, among others, has placed behind glass thinner and lighter rims. It also has Brembo brakes with carbon-ceramic discs, differential lock as well as track-spec adjustable suspension.
