Nissan has confirmed its intention to propose a style sports coupe 200SX (also known as Silvia) will present at the Tokyo Motor Show in November this year. The coupe in question will have a design inspired Esflow concept car two years ago.
Such declaration of intent can be seen in Tokyo, although it is still unknown whether it will be in the form of a new concept or model more or less definitive. Chances are that, like the Nissan Esflow , an electric car is the latest Nissan technology in this field.
Andy Palmer, Nissan’s executive vice president, said in the last Geneva Motor Show, Nissan will expand its range of sports beyond the currently proposed two models, Nissan 370Z and Nissan GT-R. Even hinted that in the future on a Nissan GT-R power (or at least hybrid).
Besides committing to sports models, Nissan strong commitment to the electrification of the automobile. In fact, their participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014 would an electric car. Which brings us back to “electric Nissan 200SX” based on the Esflow.
Andy Palmer declined to explain what engine it dropped equip but there was room for a 100% electric and hybrid (or extended range). Given sales of Nissan Leaf electric and Europe, is more than likely that in the case of this new model also support a heat engine.
To those who doubt the benefits of an electric sports car, remember that the Nissan Esflow accelerates from 0-100 km/h in less than 5 seconds, according to Nissan, Economy mode would have a range of 240 km.
