Sales in March 2013: France

The French market has closed with the worst trade performance the month of March since 1997. In the previous year the decline was from 16.4% to stay in a total of only 165 244 units registered. Currently the various associations of the engine do not quite know how the market will behave in the coming months, but it seems that the total year could close below the two million units. Not even the latest releases of domestic firms have managed to weather the storm slightly by this market is going. It’s French brands fall fairly large volume, with Citroën worst recorded data which a decrease of 28.6%.

Dacia, considered by many users as a national firm, it has achieved an excellent month deliveries increasing by 29.3%. Hyundai (+15.8%), Fiat (+8.5%) and Kia (+2.2%) also continue to grow while Opel (-28.4%), Ford (-25.0%) and Chevrolet (-43.0%) did not achieve good data. SEAT is not having a good season on French soil and last month sales fell by 24.3%. It is hoped that with the new Leon and Toledo figures improve in the coming months.

For models is the new Clio IV sticking major revision to the rest, marking 208 versus distances significantly. The arrival of the station wagon versions beginning to show. Another highlight is the Peugeot 3008, achieving very high figures and leading the crossover segment.

Beyond the Top10, highlight the 50% increase in registrations of Sandero. The Toyota Yaris also up almost 20% compared to previous year’s data. The largest declines have been in the range 207 (-70%), which makes sense considering the 208 with a more complete, and the Corsa, Polo and Party, three multipurpose reduced by more than 30% sales.
