Hyundai is unstoppable in major world markets through diversification of supply and creating products tailored to the specific tastes of each region. The next thing you would see would be a new pickup truck to jump right into this segment.
So far nothing has been decided and is studying the size it should be. At present the company has no plans for a “truck” (so called the big pickup), but dealers in the United States continue to request one from the huge demand that these vehicles have. We all know the high numbers move year after year the Ford F-Series, Ram Pick Up and Chevrolet Silverado , but it seems that the new South Korean would not be located on this level of size.
With the free trade agreement signed in 2012 between the U.S. and South Korea, both Hyundai and Kia could import any vehicle without paying the 25% tariff rate, at least until 2021. This is an advantage could be to launch a final pick up “small” for American tastes, but normal size in other regions and would have much relevance in certain emerging markets.
It’s not the first time we hear rumors of a pick up manufactured by Hyundai. A few years ago there was even talk of a deal with the Chrysler Group to rename the known RAM, which ultimately did not happen.
