The Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive made its North American debut in New York Auto Show. Equip a lithium ion 28 kWh. And even though Mercedes-Benz does not mention us press release battery pack supplier Electric Drive of Mercedes-Benz B-Class, we have to assume that this is Tesla Motors (Tesla is a supplier for the Smart ED electric).
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class ED electric motor has more than 100 kW (about 136 hp) and 310 Nm of torque, which allow you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h “in less than 10 seconds”, while top speed has been limited to 160 km/h “in the interest of autonomy”. And while Tesla actually provide batteries, Mercedes-Benz B-Class has no supercargardor. For a range of almost 100 km must have two hours of charging at a power of 240 V.
The battery is located just in front of the rear axle where the fuel tank would in a conventional Mercedes-Benz B-Class, and occupies much of the land of Mercedes-Benz B-Class. Thus, the odds of habitability and boot not be altered by an electric car.
And is that the Mercedes-Benz B-Class was developed from the start considering the electric version. Interestingly, the electric version will be the only Mercedes-Benz B-Class available in the U.S., even the B220 CDI Blue Efficiency or B 250 Blue Efficiency 211 hp, more in line with the taste of the American public, will cross the pond.
