Following presentation at the Geneva Motor Show the expected Porsche 911 GT3 (and confirmation that there will be a Porsche 911 GT3 RS 2014), the next step in the renovation of the 911 range is the Porsche 911 Turbo and reintroducing Targa variant. By sales volume, it seems more likely that the Porsche 911 Turbo is the next and the last to leave the series 997.
A reader our (thanks, Michael) has been able to capture this morning two snapshots of the Porsche 911 Turbo based on 991 in Sierra Nevada. Despite the camouflage around the rear air intakes, modeled on the 997 Turbo, you can see that they are actually similar to the Cayman and Boxster. Confirmed that air inlet type and location, would be a return to the design of the air intakes of 993 and 964 Turbo S.
As for the exhaust tips, clearly recovered from the Panamera, we do not believe are final (though we could be equivoacados) at the top end of the Porsche 911, Porsche will exhaust their own tails.
Technically, remember that all suggests that the Porsche 991 Turbo will have a flat 6 turbo supercharged three, yes, three. Besides the two turbos, like the present, the third turbo serve to increase low-end torque, something that the current Porsche 911 Turbo with 650 Nm from 1950-5000 rpm, can not complain.
A maximum power level, speaks of 550 hp, or 20 hp more than the current Porsche 911 Turbo S. Obviously, the PDK will be present and probably the manual gearbox 7 customer relationships for some nostalgia. AWD will remain as it is already a tradition in the Porsche 911 Turbo.
