General Motors expects to close negotiations with unions German Opel shortly. “We hope to reach agreement by the end of the month”, so said the vice president of GM, Steve Girsky, besides visiting the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Girsky not believe that negotiations be long until March, thus avoiding the new CEO of GM Europe, Karl-Thomas Neumann, involved in this politically sensitive dossier. “Both sides have a plan and we agreed a deadline. Worked towards this date and will soon have something concrete, negotiations are ongoing,” said Girsky.
